Those who are not taking the Beginners Workshop may want to take this time to
go to the Pitcher Plant Bog and get familiar with the area before the
workshop.

5:15 pm - Welcome and Introductions in the
Auditorium, first building on the left as you drive in.

April 26 - Saturday
Sunrise at 6:11 am for those who want to take pictures on their own
before breakfast
7:00 am Continental Breakfast at the conference room
7:30 am Habitat Discussion Naturalist Fred Nation will lead us on a special tour of the Reserve on the Weeks Bay Pontoon Boat until 10:00 am
10:00 am - (snacks provided) Downloading Photos Editing Sizing, managing with Julie
12:30 pm - Lunch in Meeting Room (catered lunch included in workshop fee)
Open discussion Q&A about cameras, settings, your personal issues with Julie
2:00 3:30 pm Review Your Photos, Sharing Session with Julie
3:30 (snacks provided) 5:00 Flexible Time, take a break or open shoot suggestion: Pitcher Plant Bog excellent light from this time of the day to sunset
5:00 pm - Dinner on your own
6:30 7:45 pm - Sunset Photography session suggestions: + at observation point over Fish River past the Bog. + Observation points over Weeks Bay + Live Oak tree hike + Pelicans, Cormorants and more!!

April 27 Sunday
Sunrise at 6:10 am for the Magic Hour

8:00-am - Photography Session Optional morning walk and shoot

10:00 am Optional - Open time for finding your special niche,
Q&A, relaxing at the reserve, bring a bag lunch to have on your own
1:00 pm Official Sunday portion of the workshop

Submit one favorite for show
2:30 pm YOUR BEST photo clothesline exhibition
Hopefully, One 8X10 print for each student will be printed (subject to printer availability)
3:00 to 3:30 Closing remarks.
What to Bring:
Digital Camera, extra lens if SLR (single lens reflex)
Digital Media Card(s) for your camera. PLEASE bring a blank card no previous photos on the card. You can plan on taking at least 100 photos in an individual session so have a card of appropriate size.
The instruction manual that came with your camera
Laptop computer (please let me know in advance if you use a MAC)
Tripod and cable release
Digital Media Card Reader: These cost usually under $20. and have several
slots that can accept different media cards for copying your photos to your
computer. I will provide a software for editing your photos that we will all
use in class during the weekend. You can remove it from your computer if you
choose after the class.
Blank CD-RW to copy material from instructor and to save your files. This CD is different than the kind you just copy music to...please note that the label will say CD-RW...Read-Write, meaning you can put photos on this CD and copy them somewhere else, erase things, etc.
Suggested dress & personal items
FYI:
Magic Hours - when the light is low in the sky you have better natural
lighting for shooting photographs.
